OFYP Sponsorship Information

Orientation & First-Year Programs (OFYP) offers a number of involvement, sponsorship, and promotional opportunities for organizations that have an interest in reaching the new student audience. By submitting this form, we can better understand your needs, and more effectively incorporate your group into our programming.

Advertising
Advertisment in the Gopher Guide — we have various color and black/white advertising options in this annual student planner and reference guide, which is given to all orientation attendees and is sold in the U of M bookstore (26,000 copies in all)
Coupons in the Gopher Guide — There will be several pages of perforated coupon pages in the Gopher Guide, which is given to all orientation attendees and is sold in the U of M bookstore (26,000 copies in all)
Direct Student Contact
Explore U — Businesses and outside organizations are invited to table at this large-scale event during Welcome Week. Tabling at Explore-U will allow you to have face-to-face interactions with upwards of 4,000 students in a three-hour period of time.
Tabling at an event or hosting an informational/promotional booth — Tabling at an event is primarily available at a number of different Welcome Week events that vary in size and event style. Tabling is usually available in exchange for program support through sponsoring the event with entertainment or food or through financial support of the event.
Giveaway Items
Kick It! — This student engagement program is open to all first-year students, and occurs at the beginning of fall and spring semester. Businesses usually donate a quantity of gift cards, coupons for free product, or promotional items to be given out as prizes to students who participate in the program.
Orientation — Limited amount of advertising via promotional items is available during Orientation. Specific items such as pen and pencils are needed in large quantities each year to use as program supplies for incoming students and their families.
Welcome Week — Prizes donated from sponsors are always needed as an incentive to new students and Welcome Week Leaders. Prizes typically consist of gift cards, coupons for free product, or promotional items. Businesses are also able to donate large door prizes such as airline vouchers, cell phones or large gift certificates to be given away at large scale events.
