New Student Checklist

To make a smooth transition to the University, there are a number of steps you will need to complete before attending Orientation this summer and before coming to campus in the fall. Please review the list on the left for all your requirements, and to make sure you get off on the right foot!

If you are a first-year student beginning September 2008, here are some things you need to take care of:

Pay your confirmation fee.
Initiate your U of M Internet account.
Check your U of M e-mail regularly.
Apply for financial aid, if needed.
Apply for housing, if needed.
Complete placement testing before Orientation.
Register for Orientation.
Know your seven-digit student ID number. You will need to provide it during the orientation process.
Learn about immunization and healthcare requirements.
Inform your parents of Parent Orientation.
Complete the Class Search Tutorial at onestop.umn.edu.
Read U of M information sent to you in the mail.
Send your final high school stranscript with proof of graduation to the Office of Admissions by Aug. 1.

Come to campus for Welcome Week on August 27!
