Welcome to the State of Minnesota!
As an out-of-state student, you are invited to participate in a special program! @Home in MN was created for new domestic students (freshman and transfer) who are from outside Minnesota. The program is designed to connect you with other students, faculty, and staff from your home state and assist you in your transition. Each month @Home in MN provides opportunities for out-of-state students to connect with each other and attend events to learn about Minnesota culture.
Be included in the @Home student directory
This student directory helps you find other students from or near your home state so you can connect with them prior to arriving on campus. If you do opt-in, your full name, UMN email, hometown, and home state will be listed in an online database accessible only to other out-of-state students who opt into this directory.
Click here to opt-in and then access the @Home Directory.
Go to the Minnesota State Fair
On Monday, September 3, U of M Welcome Week Leaders will be available to take you and other out-of-state students to the Minnesota State Fair — one of the largest state fairs in the United States. Click here to reserve your free ticket. Space is limited, so act fast.
