We would like to congratulate you and the entire Class of 2012 on your upcoming graduation! As you conclude your undergraduate career, Orientation & First-Year Programs would like to thank you for all of your hard work, creativity, and determination. You were the first class to participate in Welcome Week, and we hope your college journey was better because of it.

To show our appreciation we've decided to host a contest just for graduating members in the Class of 2012! To participate you just need to answer the following question:

Thinking back to your freshmen year, who or what helped you build the foundation that led to your success at the U? Was it a professor, an internship, a student group, a bad grade, your job? Tell us what mattered to you and why!

Communicate your experience in any way that inspires you. Be creative! Make a short video, compose a song, develop a work of art, or write an essay or poem. However you best express yourself, tell us your collegiate success story!

A panel of judges will choose up to five winners to receive the new iPad, and five honorable mentions will receive $75 Amazon.com gift cards. All participants will be invited to a graduation celebration on Thursday, May 3 from 5-7 p.m. where the winners will be announced.

Click here to complete a form indicating your intent to participate. You will also need to indicate the type of entry you plan to submit (video, essay, etc.). Only the first 100 entries will be accepted. Final submissions must be received no later than Monday, April 23, 2012. To qualify, participants must have entered the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, fall 2008 as first-time, first-year students in the Class of 2012, and have applied for graduation for spring 2012.

Again, congratulations on your upcoming graduation, and we look forward to hearing from you!
