Request for Proposals for 2016-17 Funding from the International Student Academic Services Fee – due February 5

Beginning in 2013-14, University of Minnesota Twin Cities international undergraduate students were assessed a fee for international student academic services. The resources generated from the fee were to enhance academic services for international students, with the focus of ensuring retention, timely graduation, and student satisfaction with their University of Minnesota experience.

Since the fee was implemented, numerous projects supporting international students have received funding. Funded activities included additional tutoring in the MN English Language Program, development of new courses specifically for international students, multilingual learning specialists in the Center for Writing, training and professional development for instructors of non-native speakers of writing courses, conducting the international student barometer survey, additional intercultural training support in International Student and Scholar Services, and career counseling for international students.

Call for proposals for funding for 2016-17 activities is now available. Information about the fee process can be found here. To submit a proposal click here. Units may submit multiple requests, but must use a separate online submission for each project. Requests are due February 5. If you have specific questions about funding levels as you develop your proposal, please contact Beth Lingren Clark or Paul Strykowski for further information.
