Sign up now to volunteer for Welcome Week!
Volunteer registration is open for staff and faculty who are able to assist with Welcome Week 2016. We are expecting around 5,800 first-year students this year! Following are the opportunities where we really need your help:
- Residence Hall Move-In (Aug. 29-30) - Greet students and parents, guard belongings, and help with traffic flow. Volunteers are not expected to carry luggage or boxes.
- Move-In Receptions for Families (Aug. 30) - Visit with parents and family members at the Fountain Terrace in Coffman. Talk with families moving their students in, answer any last minute questions, and help ease their anxieties about this transition. The Parent and Family Program is looking for volunteers across a variety of offices and departments, including those that have recently sent their own family members to college.
- New Student Convocation (Sept. 1) - This campus tradition kicks off the first morning of Welcome Week. We need greeters, direction providers, tassel distributors, and sign holders.
- Earth, U, and Barbecue (formerly the Class of 20XX Cookout) (Sept. 2) - We need recycling/compost assistance, direction providers, and greeters.
Start here to register!
Help us welcome students to their new home for the next four years. We need you! More information can be found here. Registration closes on Wednesday, August 17.
