How can you get ready for Orientation?

  1. College of Science & Engineering students must log-on to to start your New Student Checklist (under the My College tab). Students must also:
    • Complete the math and chemistry placement tests
    • Complete the Pre-Orientation Survey
  2. And then you can... select your Orientation date starting on April 7th at 2:00 p.m.

What is New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation is a two-day overnight program scheduled sometime between June 9 and July 15, and is required of every new student coming to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Additional dates in August are available for International Students.

Once you have selected an orientation date, encourage your parents to sign up for Parent Orientation!

At Orientation you will...

learn about your college of enrollment, register for Fall 2010 courses, meet new students, explore campus, experience a night in the residence hall, begin your collegiate journey.


Dates fill quickly, so donít delay! Be sure to check for conflicts like high school graduations, family vacations, sporting commitments, weddings, and summer jobs.
