For Your University of Minnesota New Student Orientation

Plan for your arrival at Orientation
For directions and parking information, go to www.ofyp.umn.edu/directions.

Due to multiple construction projects on and around campus, please follow the directions listed on the above Website. DO NOT USE GPS DIRECTIONS, as these routes will be incorrect. Please allow an extra 20 minutes in getting to campus, as traffic congestion around campus will be significant.

After parking in the East River Road Garage, gather your luggage and take the elevator to Level 1/Plaza Level. Then follow the signs to Yudof Hall, where you will drop off your overnight bag. Your luggage will be transported by Orientation staff to Comstock Hall, where it will be stored until you are scheduled to pick it up in the early evening. Once you have checked your luggage, head to Coffman Union’s ground floor for Orientation check-in.

Pack your bag!
Orientation is a two-day program with a mandatory overnight stay on campus. Please refer to the packing list below.

Check-In begins at 8:15 a.m.
Although you can check-in anytime between 8:15-10:00 a.m., make sure you plan ahead if you want to attend any of the morning sessions. For a list of these sessions as well as a complete overview of your Orientation schedule, click here.

Are your parents/family registered for Orientation?
Will a parent or family member accompany you to Orientation? If so, they are encouraged to register in advance for the Parent Orientation program. For more information and registration, go to: www.ofyp.umn.edu/fyparentregistration.
