2! Only two days go to!

All about what to bring Day 1 of Welcome Week…

Wear comfortable footwear and clothing during Welcome Week. There is A LOT of walking during Welcome Week; we have a big campus! Just think of it as practice for getting around from class to class during the year! Bring your phone and keep it charged to use the U Minnesota app each day (screenshot schedules from the app to save battery power). Other than that, you won't need anything else! You will get a new backpack and water bottle when you check in. You can keep your personal schedule and anything else in the new bag. Be sure to drink lots of water!

Don't forget to wear your college shirt you got at orientation for College Day (Thursday, Sept. 1) of Welcome Week! CLA students will get their T-shirt at Welcome Week Check-In.

Event Spotlight – Get Gritty: Identify your Why with Jermaine Davis

At Getting Gritty: Identify Your Why you’ll hear Jermaine Davis share how to create an intentional first year of college. Jermaine will provide you with practical strategies and lots of fun ways to help you make the most of your college experience while you make this experience entirely your own.

What students have said

"Jermaine Davis was an important event to me. At the time, I didn't see it's importance or any significance in it. But now as an incoming Junior, I see why it was actually kind of important to me at least. Looking back, Jermaine Davis reminded me that it's really important to reassure yourself that you are doing a good job and you are working hard, no matter what your grades are in your classes. At the U of M, everyone gets caught up in an academically competitive environment and sometimes we forget to remind ourselves that we are actually doing okay and doing a "Good Job!"
