For Your University of Minnesota New Student Orientation

%%First Name%%: We look forward to seeing you on %%Day%%, %%Date%% to start your two-day New Student Orientation! Before you arrive on campus, here is some information to help you plan for your trip.

Plan for your arrival at Orientation
Go here for directions and parking information.

Please follow the directions listed on the above Website. DO NOT USE GPS DIRECTIONS, as these routes will be incorrect. Please allow plenty of time for getting to campus, as there is considerable construction for families traveling from the West to campus.

After parking in the East River Road Garage, gather your luggage and take the elevator to Level 1/Plaza Level. Then follow the signs to Yudof Hall, where you will drop off your overnight bag. Your luggage will be transported by Orientation staff to Comstock Hall, where it will be stored until you are scheduled to pick it up in the early evening. Once you have checked your luggage, head to Coffman Union’s ground floor for Orientation Check-In.

Check-In begins at 8:00 a.m.
Although you can check-in anytime between 8:00-9:30 a.m., make sure you plan ahead if you want to attend any of the morning sessions. Go here for a list of these sessions as well as a complete overview of your Orientation schedule.

Are your parents/family registered for Orientation?
Will a parent or family member accompany you to Orientation? If so, they are encouraged to register in advance for the Parent Orientation program and attend on your Day 1. Go here for more information and registration.
