Welcome to the Class of 2019 eNewsletter!
Many of the items listed in the newsletter are also on your New Student Checklist. Since you currently do not have an orientation date scheduled, we want to bring these items to your attention now to ensure a smooth transition. This newsletter highlights action items that you should complete and resources that will be helpful to your transition to the U of M. We want to see you in the Class of 2019!
Select your Orientation Date
Time is running out to attend New Student Orientation. There are only three more programs remaining: August 26-27, August 27-28, or August 31-September 1. Please complete your New Student Checklist to select your date!
Attention International Students: You will complete Immigration Check-in at your New Student Orientation. In addition, more information about your on-campus orientation can be found here.

Welcome Week Event Selection is NOW OPEN!
There are a number of Welcome Week events that you can select. Start here to complete the Welcome Week Event Selection
Important Note: You have until August 26 to adjust your selections. After that, no adjustments can be made to your selections. If you have questions about what you selected, ask your Welcome Week Leaders when you meet them at your first small group meeting on Wednesday, September 2. If you experience technical difficulties with the Welcome Week Event Selection, please contact OFYP during regular office hours.
Take StrengthsFinder® Online
Once you complete Event Selection you will receive a code that will allow you to take StrengthsFinder, an online tool that provides you with your Top 5 talent themes. You will learn how to apply those talents as you connect with others on campus and in your academics, career, experiences, and daily life. You will begin to explore your Top 5 during Welcome Week and into your first year. Be sure to complete StrengthsFinder before you get to campus, and check out strengths.umn.edu. If you have further questions about StrengthsFinder email email@example.com.
Complete AlcoholEdu®, Transit™, and Haven
These three required online courses - AlcoholEdu, Transit, and Haven - have been designed to help you think about making healthy decisions regarding your safety and finances throughout your college career. You will receive an email from Boynton Health Service with additional details on August 4.
