Online Orientation button - click to begin!Online Orientation is Required
Transfer students are required to complete Online Orientation prior to attending the on-campus orientation program. Students who attend Orientation without completing Online Orientation may not be able to register for classes until they do so. If you have not completed Online Orientation, please complete it before you arrive on campus for Orientation. Be sure to print the Certificate of Online Orientation verification page and bring it with you when you check in for Transfer Orientation.

Arriving at Orientation
Check-In for Transfer Orientation is located on the ground floor of Coffman Memorial Union. For directions and parking information, go to www.ofyp.umn.edu/directions. Please follow the directions listed on the above website. DO NOT USE GPS DIRECTIONS, as these routes will be incorrect. Please allow an extra 20 minutes to get to campus, as traffic congestion around campus may be significant.

After parking in the East River Road Garage, take the elevator to Level 1/Plaza Level. Then follow the signs to Coffman Union's ground floor for Orientation check-in.

Orientation Schedule

8:00-8:40 a.m. Check-In | Resource Fair | Financial Aid Counseling
8:40 a.m. University Welcome
9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. College Meeting, Advising, and Registration (end times vary by college)
11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Lunch with Transfer Student Ambassadors (TSA)
12:30 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. Campus Tour (optional)

Parent Orientation
Will a parent or guest accompany you to Orientation? If so, parents and guests are encouraged to register in advance for the Parent Orientation program. For more information and registration, click here!

Save the Date for Transfer Welcome Day!

January 23 | 1-4 p.m. | Mississippi Room, Coffman Memorial Union

Transfer Welcome Day is the official welcome for new transfer students. Although this event is not required for transfer students, it is an excellent opportunity to start settling in at the U. During Welcome Days, you will mingle with other transfer students, meet professional staff, learn about campus resources and student organizations, and get answers to last-minute questions. You will also meet the University mascot, Goldy Gopher, and receive a free U of M T-shirt.
