Mandatory for New International Transfer Students
Immigration Document Check
Schedule your Immigration Document Check appointment time online with International Student and Scholar Services. You will be able to register for classes only after you have completed Document Check. You need to attend Document Check BEFORE your New Student Orientation. You will sign up for an International Student Orientation Program date at your Document Check.

Transfer Student Orientation
Do you have your Orientation date yet? Be sure to complete your new student checklist prior to orientation. Information located on the Preparing for Orientation web page will help you understand what you need to do before orientation.
Resources Upon Arrival
The Boynton Health Service will be providing a free bus, the Gopher Chauffeur, to transport international students from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport to the University of Minnesota campus every hour from 10:00 am to 9:20 pm from Monday, August 15 through Saturday, August 27.

Temporary Housing Available Upon Arrival
The International Reception Center is temporary on-campus housing located in the Centennial Residence Hall. It is an inexpensive option available to all newly admitted international students before the start of the fall semester. In order reserve a space at the IRC you must register online.
