You will need to complete the Pre-Orientation survey, select your orientation date, complete Online Orientation and any other requirements your college has outlined on your New Student Checklist. Below are more details regarding Online Orientation and the on-campus Transfer Orientation program.

STEP 1: Complete Online Orientation

The goal of Online Orientation is to provide you with valuable information about your college of enrollment and about University resources and services. Your adviser will reference the information you learn in the Online Orientation when you register for classes, so it is important that you complete this step before you arrive.

STEP 2: Attend an on-campus Transfer Orientation program

At Transfer Orientation you will meet with your college adviser, register for fall courses, and get your official U of M photo ID card. You will also have an opportunity to tour the campus and meet with representatives from a variety of departments to get answers to any questions you might have before classes start.

ONLINE ORIENTATION IS REQUIRED
Transfer students are required to complete Online Orientation before arriving for Transfer Orientation, and some colleges do not allow students to register for classes until they have done so. If you have not completed Online Orientation, please complete it before your on-campus program. Be sure to print the Certificate of Online Orientation verification page and bring it with you to Transfer Orientation.

DID YOU PASS THE ONLINE ORIENTATION QUIZ?
Your Online Orientation requirement is fulfilled when you pass the Online Orientation quiz with a score of 8 or above. You will have two opportunities to take the quiz. If you do not receive a passing score after your second attempt, please call 612-624-1979 or email transfer@umn.edu to have your quiz score reset so that you can try again.
