Hey %%First Name%%!

This is Bailey, your Transfer Insider! I am writing to introduce myself, share my transfer story with you, and tell you a bit about the Transfer Insiders. We are a resource open to you offered by the Orientation & First-Year Programs office. The program connects new transfer students to other transfer students that they can be use as a resource throughout the semester.

As for myself, I am a junior majoring in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management, specializing in Corporate Environmental Management. I transferred here from the University of New England. One of the best ways to feel at home at the U is to get involved! If you like sports and a good time, look no further than Gopher Game Days! Coming from a small, private college, I had no idea what I was missing when it comes to football games and other sporting events. I also got involved with a student group that is based around my major. It allows me to meet a bunch of awesome people with similar goals and interests. I lived in a dorm my first semester here, and I took the opportunity to meet the people who lived around me. It was great to find a community that was so close to where I’d be spending most of my time. Lastly, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to be a Transfer Insider! All of these things combined have helped me find my place at the U and I am proud to call it my home. Hopefully you’ll be able to find the same feeling during your first semester!

I’ve been in your position before, so you are not alone. You may be feeling some mixed emotions about your new school and that is completely normal. Do not hesitate to email me with any questions or worries you may have. This semester, a new program has been introduced and it comes with FREE coffee! You are now able to make a coffee chat appointment with any Transfer Insider just to talk. To make an appointment, call the OFYP office at 612-624-1979. We can talk about anything from general worries and concerns to navigating the campus and anything in between!

Here are some other quick links and information that you might find helpful during your time at the U!

Have a great first semester!
