Hello %%First Name%%!
I hope you had an amazing spring break! Hopefully, you were able to unwind a little bit before the semester picks up again. I know for me it was a much needed break. I went to Wisconsin Dells for the first time. Actually, it was also my first time being in Wisconsin. I went with a group of friends and we rented out a cabin there. We did so many things, go karts, bumper boats, mini golf, laser tag, laser maze, water slides, and my least favorite, the rope course. If you know anything about me, I am terrified of heights. But, I vividly remember passing up the opportunity to do a ropes course in 6th grade and I regretted it. So I thought, why not. I went up there... Everything seemed fine… until about 5 minutes in… and I was hugging a pillar for dear life. But overall, it was a great time and everything was on a student budget!
With Spring Break ending, getting back to the daily grind of school can be difficult, I know for me it is, especially with an exam on Friday. But aside from all of the school work, there are many things to look forward to in the upcoming weeks. I know I am super excited for Spring Jam! This year, Spring Jam will be on April 23rd! Spring Jam is a series of concerts hosted by the University where they bring in many artists in a festival format. There’s also many activities going on throughout the week and they give away a lot of FREE things. Free stuff always gets me in the door, not even kidding you. They just released the lineup for Spring Jam 2016 so check it out here: springjam.umn.edu. Last year, I had a blast and they brought in in Travis Porter, YG, and Betty Who. The theme for Spring Jam 2015 was Festival, so they also had a ferris wheel, zip lining, hamster ball race track, etc. So mark your calendars Gophers and I hope to see you all there!
Aside from Spring Jam, Student Union & Activities (SUA) is also hosting other events! They are hosting a Bingo night March 30th, Trivia night March 31st, Dirty Grandpa is playing April 7th, etc. To find out more about what other activities they have, check out their event page!
With the weather warming up, hopefully, it is also good opportunity to get off of campus too! Some of my favorites that I encourage you to check out include Lake Calhoun, Minnehaha park, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, and the Mill City Art Museum!
Hopefully, I gave you more than enough to look forward to in the upcoming weeks and I hope you can get back into your daily routine for school! As always, you are more than welcome to join me for FREE Starbucks coffee. Email me and let’s find a time to meet up!
