Volunteer for Welcome Week!

Volunteers are needed to assist with several elements of the Welcome Week 2012 program. Join us in making the University of Minnesota a warm and friendly place for new students. A few hours of your time could have a tremendous impact.

Opportunities include:

  • Residence Hall Move-In (Aug. 27-29)
Greet students and parents, guard belongings, and help with traffic flow.
  • Parent Receptions (Aug. 27-29)
Have you sent a student off to college recently? You are invited to volunteer at the Parent Receptions to talk with parent moving their students in to help ease their anxieties and/or celebrate their new freedom.
  • New Student Convocation (Aug. 30)
This campus tradition kicks off the first morning of Welcome Week. We need greeters, section guides, and direction providers.
  • Class of 2016 Cookout (Aug. 31)
We need food servers, direction providers, and greeters.
  • Respect-U (Aug. 31)
Help students reflect on how they can be a part of creating a welcoming and inclusive community.

Specific details for all volunteer opportunities can be found at: https://www.ofyp.umn.edu/forms/form.php?id=88 (you will need to log in with your U of M Internet ID)

Help us welcome new students to their new home for the next 4 years. We need you! For more information on Welcome Week events visit www.welcomeweek.umn.edu.
