Parents & Visitors of First-Year Students
As a parent or guardian of a new first-year student, you play a vital role in your student's transition into the University of Minnesota community. Because this time can be both exciting and challenging for the entire family, we offer a separate one-day program designed to provide parents and guardians with valuable information that will help you support your student's transition into the University of Minnesota.
Parent Orientation will take place concurrent with New Student Orientation in June, July, and August. Registration for Parent Orientation is separate from registration for New Student Orientation and is now available.
In addition, parents will want to be aware of Welcome Week, which begins August 27, 2008 and is required for all new first-year students.
