Fall and Spring Check-In Surveys

Orientation & First-Year Programs in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research conducts the Check-In Survey in the fall and spring. The survey generally is administered approximately 6 to 8 weeks into the semester. The target is a random sample of 500 first-time, full-time students who started in the fall. In the spring, there is a new random sample of 500 first-time, full-time students who started the previous fall. The purpose of this survey is to collect information from these students regarding their transition to University life, programs and services utilized in the transition process, and well as identifying areas of concern. This survey includes many open-ended questions to solicit feedback. We utilize this information to gain the student perspective and enhance our program initiatives.
