Off-Campus
Finding a place to live is no easy task, especially if you are not familiar with the Twin Cities area. Is is never too early to begin your housing search. Start by exploring neighborhoods near campus and surrounding areas. The following are key considerations when choosing a neighborhood:

  • How far or how much time do you want to commute to campus?
  • How much rent can you afford?
  • Do you want roommates?
  • If you plan to drive to campus, how much money can you budget for gas and parking on and off campus?
  • If you plan to take public transportation, how much money can you budget for transportation? Considering the proximity of bus stops to your house and the bus schedule. How far is the nearest stop from your house, and what is the daily schedule of stops? Will this schedule allow you flexibility with your classes and work?
